Staying in Busan during treatment

Practical information for patients and families staying in Busan: getting around, time zone, and what to prepare.

Last updated:

How do I get to Busan?

Busan has Gimhae International Airport, with direct flights from several cities in Asia. You can also fly into Incheon and take a domestic flight or the KTX high-speed train to Busan. We can arrange pickup at either airport.

What time zone is Korea in?

Korea uses Korea Standard Time (KST, GMT+9) all year, with no daylight saving time. Our office hours and appointment times on this website are in KST.

How do I get around the city?

Busan has a subway system, buses and taxis. On appointment days, your coordinator arranges transport between your accommodation and the hospital so you do not need to find the way yourself.

What should I bring?

Bring your passport, your original medical documents and imaging files, a list of medicines you take, and travel insurance details. If you take regular medication, bring enough for your whole stay.
